The Fantasticks
Written by Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt
Directed by Margie Slovan
Music Direction by Mark Rabe
The world’s longest-running musical
First performed off-Broadway in 1960, The Fantasticks is the most produced musical in the world. Now, for the first time in almost 50 years, it comes to Seattle's underground — where the intimate space and evocative character of the historic venue transform the story into something unforgettable.
The Fantasticks is a musical fantasy about two neighbors who fake a feud to trick their children, Matt and Luisa, into falling in love. The story follows the young lovers as they discover the deception, venture into the harsh real world, and ultimately return to each other, realizing that love requires maturity and acceptance of life's painful realities.
